brooches, or hair accessories...

i've become obsessed with flowers...and trying to create new ones to add that little "finishing touch" to an outfit, even if it is jeans and a t-shirt. here's a couple new creations.

the most incredible scarfs...

so, of course i don't come up with my own ideas, i'm not creative that way, but i love trying other people's ideas. i saw these scarfs on etsy, and couldn't resisit. the soft minky on the back looked heavenly, and of course, it's now very addicting. the softest silkiest warmest material you could ask for, to be combined with amy butler, you can't go wrong. so far, two scarfs done, and a few more to go, to make sure all the girls in the house are dressed warmly, and with a little modernvintage flair.

button, button...

oh, making things with buttons has become too much fun! the possibilities are endless, especially when you have four girls. they become the centerpiece of flowers, earrings, rings, and clippies. no matter if they were bought or made, they can add a finishing touch to any project!

fabric bow...

december 2009
I like this idea, but I didn't use all sweaters as the woman had recommended, so it looks a bit like scrunchies. I'll have to improve it, but it looks cute on a headband so far...

my first rosette headband...

december 2009
I tried my hand at a headband, my own creation of sorts. I love rosettes made from any sort of fabric.

a little more added to the piano room...

december 2009
I'm slowly adding and changing the house around, it's a needed fix when you love to decorate and move things around.

I made fabric hangers with leftover Amy Butler fabric I used from the curtains, and I think they add a nice little touch. I'm still trying to figure out what to add to the walls, and am planning on doing something with the piano bench, even if it is just doing matching button covers. We'll see!

our family vinyl...

december 2009
I saw something like this on etsy, my FAV place to visit!, and added more things that pertained to what I liked and applied more for our family. This is on one of the walls in the schoolroom, which I'm glad to look up and see everyday. Reminders are good, especially when your mind forgets as much as mine!

PLEASE do not stare too much, the lines are off, but after hours and hours of cutting and peeling, I decided, this is it! This was my very first project on the cricut, believe it or not. I guess I decided to go big, but I love it!

school room...

december 2009
I finally finished the curtains in the school room. I used two colors on one side of the room, and used them opposite on the other side of the room. It's hard to tell the pattern with the lighting, but it's a girly pattern for sure. I love it, and since we're in the schoolroom most of the day, it's a bright and cheery reminder.

cutting with my cricut...my early Christmas present...

december. 2009
I made my first vinyl board, and a vinyl gift for my sister for Christmas. The cricut is awesome at cutting and designing, I've loved it-thanks Jarom! It's a little intense learning about SVG's and figuring out how to save them, and change them, and use inkscape along with sure cuts a lot, but it's getting easier and easier. My very patient husband, as always, has been amazing!
